96″ x 48″ x 6″ Under certain circumstances we can finish components outside this range, please contact us to discuss.
No, however keep in mind our process is fully automated so smaller runs (under 50) may not be price competitive.
We prefer to do the machining to maintain our high quality standards, but either way works as long as the required MDF is used. This is discussed upfront and determined on a job to job basis.
Since all our jobs are custom components with different part sizes, machining requirements, and powder required per part, we do not have a square foot price. Powder coating MDF is very cost competitive compared to other finishing options and materials.
No, DVUV requires a certain grade MDF that contains the required moisture content and density profile to work with our process.
Unfortunately no. Natural woods vary greatly in moisture content, density and surface smoothness making them very difficult to powder coat.
We stick to powder coating MDF, however our sister company Keyland Polymer has a demo line for testing and validating UV-cured powder coating for heat sensitive substrates. They can also work with you to develop a coating or even help you set up your own powder coating system.
Powder coating makes for a much more durable finish than paint or even some grades of laminate. You can view our technical data sheets here.
Yes, that’s the best part! UV-cured powder coating contains no VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) or HAPs (Hazardous Air Pollutants). It is also solvent free, non-toxic and requires no permits. The MDF used is CARB (California Air and Resources Board) and SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) compliant. Powder coated components can also quality for LEED credits.
