Advantages of UV Cured Powder Coating
Low Heat
UV cured powder coatings require minimal heat exposure during the curing process. The coating is melted at a low temperature (100–130°C or 212–266°F), and then cured instantly with UV light. This reduces the risk of warping, cracking, or other heat related defects and does not degrade the overall structural integrity of the MDF.
Instant Cure
UV curing occurs instantly, drastically reducing production times compared to traditional curing methods. This results in higher productivity and throughput, ideal for high-volume manufacturing. Parts can be processed and packed for shipping immediately after curing.
Sustainable Coating
Our UVMax® UV cured powder coatings contain no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs), making them an environmentally friendly finishing solution. UV curing uses less energy than thermal curing ovens, contributing to increased energy savings and lower operational costs.
Superior Finish Quality
UV cured powder coating delivers a smooth, uniform finish that flows smoothly over curves, corners and cutouts. No runs, drips or edge banding here! A strong cross-linked finish from UV curing offers excellent resistance to scratches, abrasions, and moisture.
Design Flexibility
Our coatings are available in a wide range of gloss levels, textures, and colors. In-house custom color matching capabilities allow us to match to any Pantone, RAL or supplied sample. Powder coating offers seamless edge profiles, cutouts and build ups. Go ahead, let your imagination run wild.
Cost-Effective
The fast curing process, combined with minimal waste (overspray can be reclaimed), lowers overall material and labor costs associated with large-scale production. The plant footprint for a UV cured powder coating system is significantly less than with a thermal powder coating system or a liquid paint line.
